Bakewell Pudding (II)

Ingredients

• 3/4 pint bread crumbs
• 1 pint milk
• 4 eggs
• 2 oz sugar
• 3 oz butter
• 1 oz pounded almonds
• jam

Instructions

1. Put the bread crumbs at the bottom of a pie-dish, then over them a layer of jam of any kind that may be preferred;
2. mix the milk and eggs together;
3. add the sugar, butter, and pounded almonds;
4. beat fill well together;
5. pour it into the dish, and bake in a moderate oven for 1 hour.
