Consommé aux Paillettes d'or (Cold Consommé with Gold Flakes)

Ingredients

• Very fine chicken Consommé
• Fine Champagne
• A sheet of gold

Instructions

1. Prepare a very fine chicken Consommé.
2. Enliven it with fine Champagne, in the proportion of 4 to 5 centilitres per litre.
3. Pour the Consommé into the cups.
4. Add fine flakes drawn from a sheet of gold.
5. Serve cold only.
