The Colonel’s Biscuits

Source: Eliza Acton, 1845

Instructions

  1. Mix a slight pinch of salt with some fine sifted flour.
  2. Make it into a smooth paste with thin cream.
  3. Prepare them for the oven like those which precede, and bake the biscuits gently.
  4. Store them as soon as they are cold in a dry canister, to preserve them crisp. Acton says they are excellent.
