Common Tomata Sauce

Ingredients
- 6 fine ripe tomatas
- 4 tablespoonsful gravy or strong broth
- cayenne
- salt
Instructions
- Remove stalks from the tomatas and halve them.
- Gently squeeze out the seeds and watery pulp from the tomata halves.
- Stew them softly with the gravy or broth until completely melted, 30 to 45 minutes or longer as needed.
- Press the whole mixture through a hair-sieve.
- Heat it afresh, adding a little additional gravy if the sauce is too thick.
- Season with cayenne and salt.
- Serve very hot.
