Plain Soft Gingerbread

Ingredients
- 1 desert spoonful baking soda
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup molasses
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2.5 cups flour
- ground ginger
- allspice
Instructions
- Dissolve the baking soda in boiling water. Add the molasses and melted butter to this mixture and stir well. Mix the sifted flour thoroughly into the wet ingredients. Season with ground ginger and allspice to taste. Bake in a moderate oven.
