Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Begin with a quart of very thick mush that has been well salted.
  2. Add three fresh eggs one at a time, beating hard between each addition.
  3. Once the mixture is smooth, add half a cup of rich milk and half a cup of melted butter.
  4. Stir hard.
  5. Add one teaspoonful of baking powder.
  6. Bake quickly in the serving dish itself, as the batter is too soft to turn out.
  7. Serve the bread by dipping it onto plates with a spoon.
