Mush Bread (Overton Receipt)

Ingredients
- 1 quart mush
- 3 fresh eggs
- 0.5 cup rich milk
- 0.5 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
Instructions
- Begin with a quart of very thick mush that has been well salted.
- Add three fresh eggs one at a time, beating hard between each addition.
- Once the mixture is smooth, add half a cup of rich milk and half a cup of melted butter.
- Stir hard.
- Add one teaspoonful of baking powder.
- Bake quickly in the serving dish itself, as the batter is too soft to turn out.
- Serve the bread by dipping it onto plates with a spoon.
