Yellow (Cornmeal) Gnocchi

Instructions

  1. Salt boiling water and pour in coarse cornmeal a little at a time, stirring constantly; cook until it holds firmly on the spoon.
  2. Drop the thick mixture in small pieces with a knife onto a serving dish, seasoning each layer with cheese, butter and tomato sauce.
  3. Mound up and serve hot; optionally enrich like polenta with sausages or like macaroni Bologna style.
