Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Layer boiled mallows, leeks, beets or cabbage sprouts, thrushes, chicken forcemeat dumplings, pork or chicken slices, and whatever else you have, in alternating layers.
  2. Pound pepper and lovage with 2 lb old wine, 1 lb liquamen, 1 lb honey and some oil; taste, mix and temper, and pour into a pan.
  3. Simmer gently; as it cooks add 1 sextarius of milk.
  4. Pour beaten eggs mixed with milk over it; once it sets, serve.
