Molded Casserole (Caccabina Fusilis)

Ingredients
- mallows
- leeks
- beets or cabbage sprouts
- thrushes
- chicken forcemeat dumplings
- pork or chicken slices
- pepper
- lovage
- pondo (lb) old wine
- pondo (lb) liquamen (Roman fermented fish sauce)
- pondo (lb) honey
- olive oil
- sextarius milk
- eggs
Instructions
- Layer boiled mallows, leeks, beets or cabbage sprouts, thrushes, chicken forcemeat dumplings, pork or chicken slices, and whatever else you have, in alternating layers.
- Pound pepper and lovage with 2 lb old wine, 1 lb liquamen, 1 lb honey and some oil; taste, mix and temper, and pour into a pan.
- Simmer gently; as it cooks add 1 sextarius of milk.
- Pour beaten eggs mixed with milk over it; once it sets, serve.
