Preserving Grapes

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Boil rainwater down to one-third.
  2. Place undamaged grapes in a vessel with the reduced water; pitch and gypsum-seal it.
  3. Store in a cool, sunless place; the grapes stay green. The liquid can serve the sick as a hydromel substitute.
  4. Alternatively, bury the grapes in barley to keep them sound.
