  1. Heat a heavy pot or saucepan over moderate heat with the chocolate tablets and lard until melted and smooth. Remove from heat. Incorporate the egg yolks one at a time, stirring well. Add the flour and sugar, mixing until fully combined. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites to stiff peaks (punto de nieve), then gently fold them into the chocolate mixture along with the vanilla. Pour into a buttered mold or baking dish. Bake in the oven until set.
