Silver Cake

Ingredients
- 12 whole eggs
- 1 pound butter
- 1 pound powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons yeast powder
- 1 pound flour
- 0.5 teacup sweet milk
- 2 teaspoons extract of almond or peach
Instructions
- Beat the whites of a dozen eggs until very light.
- Rub the butter and powdered sugar together until creamed very light.
- Add the beaten egg whites to the butter mixture and beat all together until very light.
- Sift the yeast powder with one pound of flour.
- Add the flour mixture to the eggs, sugar, and butter.
- Add one-half teacupful of sweet milk and mix quickly.
- Beat until very light.
- Flavor with two teaspoonfuls of extract of almond or peach at the final beating.
- Grease your chosen baking pan well.
- Pour the cake batter into the greased pan.
- Bake in a moderately hot stove so the cake bakes gradually, arranging the damper to send heat to the bottom of the cake first.
