Chicken Soup for the Sick

Ingredients
- 1 old chicken
- 1 gallon water
- 2 egg yolks
- a little thyme
- salt
- pepper
Instructions
- Put the old chicken in one gallon of water and boil down to half a gallon.
- Strain the meat from the broth.
- Tie the yolks of two eggs up in a clean cloth with a little thyme.
- Put the cloth bundle into the strained soup.
- Return to the pot and boil down to three pints.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Dish up and send to table hot.
