Ladies' Custard

Ingredients
- 1 quart sweet milk
- 6 eggs
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Instructions
- Boil a quart of sweet milk.
- Beat together six eggs with two tablespoonfuls of sugar until light.
- Pour the hot milk onto the eggs and sugar, stirring well.
- Put one tablespoonful of sugar into a kettle that will hold the milk and eggs, and let the sugar brown.
- Pour the milk and egg mixture into the kettle and let it come to a boil.
- Put your custard cups in a baking pan and fill the pan with cold water.
- Fill the cups with custard and set in the stove until it becomes as thick as batter.
