White Rice

Instructions

  1. Heat the manteca (lard) in a pot over medium heat. Add the garlic clove and fry it well, then remove and discard it.
  2. In that same manteca, add the rice and stir it several times to coat the grains.
  3. Pour in boiling water and add salt as needed. The amount of water should be sufficient to cook the rice until the grains are tender and whole.
  4. Stir occasionally and ensure the rice is well cooked with each grain remaining intact.
  5. For a more refined presentation, transfer the cooked rice to a mold and place it in the oven briefly. Then turn it out onto a serving platter and surround it with fried eggs.
