Ingredients
- sugar
- apples
- water
Instructions
- Weigh out equal quantities of sugar and apples.
- Peel the apples and place them in boiling water.
- Cook until they are softened but still hold their shape.
- Transfer them to cold water and let them rest for twenty-four hours.
- Drain them well. Separately, prepare a syrup (almíbar) with the sugar and water.
- Once the syrup has cooled, combine it with the apples and place over low heat.
- Cook until the preserve reaches a strong setting point.
- The apples will remain whole and take on a beautiful color.
