Instructions

  1. Clean the marshmallow root thoroughly. Bring it to a boil in water, then drain and discard the cooking water.
  2. Place the cleaned marshmallow root in fresh water (about 1 liter) and simmer until the liquid reduces to half its original volume. Strain through a fine sieve.
  3. Combine the strained liquid with the pilón sugar and bring to a boil, cooking until the mixture reaches a thick syrup consistency (point de jarabe bastante grueso).
