Ice Cream

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Beat the whites of six eggs to a light froth.
  2. Beat in half a teacup of sugar to the eggs.
  3. Beat the cream until light.
  4. Add one teacupful of sugar to the cream and beat again until light.
  5. Combine the egg mixture with the cream mixture.
  6. Flavor with one and a half tablespoonfuls of vanilla.
  7. Put the whole mixture into a freezer.
  8. Place a layer of ice at the bottom of the freezer pail and cover it with salt.
  9. Set the freezer in on top of the ice and salt base.
  10. Fill in around the freezer with alternating layers of ice and salt until full to the top of the freezer, being careful to let no salt get inside the freezer.
  11. Freeze for ten minutes.
