Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Rub the quarter pound of butter into the flour while dry.
  2. Beat the five eggs very light.
  3. Add the eggs, salt, milk, and yeast to the flour, and stir the whole together as you would pound cake.
  4. Put to rise at 10 o'clock at night.
  5. The next morning, beat over the dough until light as cake.
  6. Put in a warm place to rise a second time.
  7. Grease the pan just before putting to rise the second time.
  8. Bake in the pan it rises in the second time, baking as carefully as you would bake pound cake.
