Instructions

  1. Beat the egg whites to stiff peaks. Make a syrup by dissolving the sugar with a small amount of water and cooking until it reaches the proper consistency. Add the syrup to the beaten whites little by little, mixing constantly and working the mixture well until it thickens to a paste.
  2. Using a spoon, place small mounds of this paste onto white paper. Bake in a low oven until set and lightly colored. Once cooled completely, remove the meringues from the paper.
