Empanada Dough (For Meat or Poultry Pies)

Ingredients
- 250 g butter (manteca)
- yeast
- water
- salt
- 500 g good quality flour
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions
- Take the butter, yeast, water, salt, and flour.
- Work the flour thoroughly with the butter, yeast, and enough water to form a fine, smooth dough.
- Wrap it in a cloth and let it rest for about two hours in a warm place.
- After the rise, work the dough again and roll it out thin with a rolling pin.
- Place half of the dough in a baking pan or dish.
- Fill with the meat, poultry, or other filling of your choice.
- Cover with the remaining dough half.
- Brush the top generously with beaten egg and bake in the oven.
