Ingredients
- 250 g butter (manteca)
- yeast
- water
- salt
- 500 g good quality flour
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions
- Take the butter, yeast, water, salt, and flour. Work the flour thoroughly with the butter, yeast, and enough water to form a fine, smooth dough. Wrap it in a cloth and let it rest for about two hours in a warm place.
- After the rise, work the dough again and roll it out thin with a rolling pin. Place half of the dough in a baking pan or dish. Fill with the meat, poultry, or other filling of your choice. Cover with the remaining dough half. Brush the top generously with beaten egg and bake in the oven until golden.
