  1. Wash and dry the Corinth raisins, then mix them with the candied fruit pieces.
  2. Beat the butter and flour together until well combined and worked. Add the sugar (or add sugar first, if you prefer), then incorporate the three eggs, beating the batter very well until it is fine and smooth.
  3. In a teacupful of milk, dissolve one teaspoon of baking soda, then add one tablespoon of cognac. Combine this mixture with the batter and beat again for a moment.
  4. Prepare a mold by coating it with butter and bread crumbs. Pour the batter into the mold, being careful to fill it just past halfway, since the pudding rises considerably during cooking.
