The General's Bullets (Stuffed Eggs)

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Hard-boil a dozen eggs.
  2. Cool, dry and pound a piece of boiled beef from the puchero; then grind roasted peanuts.
  3. Mix into the meat chopped parsley and white onion, pepper, salt, a pinch of cumin and muscatel raisins.
  4. Melt butter in a pan and, at first boil, mix in the seasoned meat with half a glass of sweet wine; cook ten minutes and cool.
  5. Shell and halve the eggs, remove the yolks, and fill with the meat mixture; close them.
  6. Dip in egg batter thickened with bread and cheese crumbs, fry in butter, and pile up like a stack of bullets to serve.
