Raised Cake

Ingredients
- 1 quart flour
- 0.5 pound butter
- 1 pint sugar
- 2 eggs
- 0.5 teacup yeast
- 1 teacup seeded raisins
- 1.5 teacups currants
- 1 tablespoonful flour
- 1 teaspoonful soda
Instructions
- Cream butter and sugar together.
- Add the flour to the creamed mixture.
- Break eggs in and add yeast.
- Beat the whole well.
- Add the seeded raisins and currants.
- Stir all well and put it to rise for about an hour with good yeast.
- After rising, make off the dough and put into butter-greased pans.
- When making off the second time and putting in pans, first sift together a tablespoonful of flour with a teaspoonful of soda and mix into the batter.
- Let it rise for thirty minutes.
- Put to bake.
