Soda Cakes

Ingredients

• 0.5 pound sugar
• 1 pint milk
• 1 teaspoon soda
• 2 pounds flour
• 0.5 pound butter

Instructions

1. Dissolve the sugar in the milk. Add the soda to the milk mixture. Pour this liquid onto the flour. Melt the butter and add it to the mixture. Knead all ingredients together until light. Put the dough into shallow moulds. Bake quickly in a brisk oven.
