Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Cut the fish into pieces about the thickness of your hand. Wash and dry the pieces thoroughly in a cloth. Sprinkle with pepper and salt, then dredge with flour. Fry until nicely browned.
  2. When the fish has cooled, layer it in a pot with chopped onion between the layers. Mix together equal amounts of vinegar and water (enough to cover the fish), along with oil, pounded mace, and whole black pepper. Pour this mixture over the fish and seal the pot tightly.
  3. When ready to serve, garnish with green fennel or parsley.
