Brisket of Beef Baked

Ingredients
- 1 brisket of beef
- fat bacon
- parsley
- oysters
- pounded cloves
- nutmeg
- pepper
- salt
- flour
- 1 pint red wine
- 1 large spoonful lemon pickle
- green pickles
Instructions
- Bone the brisket of beef. Using a sharp knife, make holes about an inch apart throughout the meat. Mix together the chopped fat bacon, parsley, and oysters, and season this mixture with pounded cloves, nutmeg, pepper, and salt. Fill the holes alternately with this mixture.
- Dredge the filled brisket well with flour. Lay it in a pan with the red wine and a large spoonful of lemon pickle.
- Bake for three hours. Remove the fat from the gravy and strain it.
- Serve the brisket garnished with green pickles.
