Molasses Beer

Ingredients
- 5 quarts hops
- 5 quarts wheat bran
- 15 gallons water
- 5 quarts molasses
- 1 quart yeast
- corks
Instructions
- Put five quarts of hops and five quarts of wheat bran into fifteen gallons of water. Boil for three or four hours. Strain the mixture and pour it into a cask with one head removed.
- Add five quarts of molasses and stir until well mixed. Throw a cloth over the barrel.
- When moderately warm, add one quart of good yeast, stirring it in well. Stop the cask close with a cloth and board.
- When fermented and quite clear, bottle it. Corks should be soaked in boiling water for an hour or two, and bottles must be perfectly clean and well drained.
