Chocolate Cakes

Ingredients
- 0.5 pound nice brown sugar
- 1 quart flour
- 4 ounces butter
- milk
Instructions
- Put the brown sugar into the flour and sift together. Make this into a paste with the melted butter and enough milk to wet it. Knead the dough until light.
- Roll the dough out tolerably thin and cut it into strips an inch wide and just long enough to lay in a plate. Bake the strips on a griddle.
- Arrange them in the plate in rows to checker each other. Serve them to eat with chocolate.
