Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Rub half a pound of sugar into three pounds of flour, and sift it.
  2. Pour on half a pint of good yeast.
  3. Beat six eggs and add half a pint of milk.
  4. Mix all together and knead it well. If not soft enough, add more milk; it should be softer than bread.
  5. Make it at night.
  6. In the morning, if well risen, work in six ounces of butter and bake it in small rolls.
  7. When cold, slice it, lay it on tin sheets, and dry it in the oven.
