Sasaties or Kabobs

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Cut the leg of mutton into small pieces about an inch square.
  2. Brown the onion, cut in thin slices, in a pan with fat or butter.
  3. Mix all the ingredients well together with the cut-up meat in a deep pan or basin.
  4. Leave the mixture overnight or longer to marinate.
  5. Thread the meat on skewers, interspersing pieces of fat between the meat.
  6. Place the gridiron on wood coals to get very hot.
  7. Grill the sasaties until a nice brown.
  8. Well heat the gravy in a saucepan.
  9. Serve the sasaties hot with rice and the heated gravy on the side.
