Sasaties or Kabobs

Ingredients
- 1 Fat leg of mutton
- 2 oz Good curry powder
- 1 cup Vinegar
- 3 Lemons
- 1 tablespoonful Sugar
- 1 cup Milk
- 2 oz Butter
- Onion
- Fat
- 3 dozen Skewers
- Salt
Instructions
- Cut the leg of mutton into small pieces about an inch square.
- Brown the onion, cut in thin slices, in a pan with fat or butter.
- Mix all the ingredients well together with the cut-up meat in a deep pan or basin.
- Leave the mixture overnight or longer to marinate.
- Thread the meat on skewers, interspersing pieces of fat between the meat.
- Place the gridiron on wood coals to get very hot.
- Grill the sasaties until a nice brown.
- Well heat the gravy in a saucepan.
- Serve the sasaties hot with rice and the heated gravy on the side.
