Cake (Georgina's)

Instructions

  1. Stir the butter to a cream and mix it with the loaf sugar.
  2. Whisk the whites and yolks of the eggs separately, then mix the yolks with the sugar and butter.
  3. Then add alternately the flour -- the weight of the eggs in flour -- and the whites, with the 30 sweet and 20 bitter almonds, blanched and sliced, and a little citron preserve, and lastly the currants.
  4. Bake with paper over the buttered mould for one and a half hours.
  5. Remove the paper and leave for another quarter of an hour.
