Soup (Browning For)

Instructions

  1. Put about four ounces of brown sugar and half an ounce of butter into a stewpan.
  2. Set it on the fire to brown, stirring all the time with a wooden spoon so that it may not burn.
  3. When sufficiently melted, stir in a pint of boiling water. Let it boil, and skim well.
  4. When cold, bottle and cork.
  5. A tablespoonful or more will colour your soup.
