Pudding (Molly's)

Instructions

  1. Put a layer of stale crumbs, from a stale penny loaf, into a buttered dish or basin, then a layer of jam or marmalade, then another of crumbs, and so on till the dish is full.
  2. Mix a tablespoonful of maizena with one egg.
  3. Add a pint of boiling milk, then pour this over the crumbs.
  4. Either bake or boil. Time, half an hour. Cheap and good.
