Cake (Pound)

Instructions

  1. Mix the butter, whipped to a cream, with 1 lb. of loaf sugar.
  2. Then add the yolks of 4 eggs, then 1 lb. of flour with the baking powder mixed dry into it, then the breakfast-cup of milk, 1 cup of currants, the grated nutmeg, and some citron preserve cut small.
  3. Lastly add the whites, whisked to a stiff froth.
  4. Bake for one hour and a half in a moderate oven.
