Grapes in Brandy (Mrs. Cloete's Recipe)

Ingredients
- Hanepot grapes
- 2 cups thick syrup
- 1 cup good spirits of wine
Instructions
- Select nice ripe Hanepot grapes and cut them with a piece of the stalk attached.
- Prick each grape with a steel pin.
- Fill a jar with the prepared grapes.
- Prepare a very thick syrup by boiling it beforehand.
- Combine the syrup and spirits of wine in the proportion of two cups of syrup to one cup of good spirits of wine.
- Fill the jars with this mixture to cover the grapes.
- Cover the jars well and tie down with bladder to seal.
