Beef Steak (Stewed)

Instructions
- Fry the steak quickly in 1 oz. butter.
- Brown one onion, and warm half a pint of water before it goes near the meat.
- Put the steak in a stewpan with the warmed half-pint of water, the browned onion, tomato sauce, pepper, salt, a teaspoonful of brown flour, and a little cayenne.
- Cover the pan close and stew all gently for an hour.
- Thicken the gravy with butter rolled in flour. Enough for six people.
