Curry of Cold Meat (My Recipe)

Ingredients
- 1 large onion
- 1 tablespoonful butter or dripping mixed
- 2 green apples or 1 large quince
- 1 tablespoonful curry powder
- 1 tablespoonful vinegar or lemon
- 1 dessertspoonful sugar
- 1/2 cup stock
- milk
- cold meat
- 0.5 ounce tamarinds
Instructions
- Cut the onion small and fry it until a nice brown colour.
- In a pot, combine the fried onion with a tablespoonful of curry powder, the apples (or quince, or tomatoes cut in slices), vinegar or lemon, sugar, half a cup of stock, and a little milk, and simmer together.
- Cut up some cold meat in nice little pieces and lay it in this mixture.
- Simmer for an hour or more until the meat is thoroughly flavoured with the curry paste.
- Serve with hot boiled rice.
