Tart (Apple)

Instructions

  1. Line a tin dish with puff paste. Have ready 1 pint of milk, 1 cup of sugar, 4 eggs, the butter, apples, almonds, and pounded cinnamon.
  2. Peel and quarter one dozen apples and lay them in the dish, with some blanched and pounded almonds.
  3. Mix together the milk, the butter beaten to a cream, four eggs, one cup of sugar, and some cinnamon to taste.
  4. Pour the mixture into the dish, covering the apples.
  5. Bake in an oven for an hour and more. Anything requiring some time to bake must be covered with a tin plate at first, which can be removed when half-done.
