ʿAdasiyya (Lentil Stew with Chard)

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Brown the cut meat in rendered tail-fat, then add salt, cumin and ground coriander; cover with water.
  2. As it nears done, add washed chard cut about four fingers; when the chard is done add water and boil.
  3. When boiling hard, add cleaned washed lentils and cook until done and set smooth.
  4. Stir in finely pounded garlic, rest on a gentle fire, lift off, and add lemon juice when serving.
