Pastry (Suet)

Source: Hildagonda J. Duckitt, 1891

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients: flour, a little salt, and suet.
  2. Mix the flour with half the suet, then add about half a pint of cold water.
  3. Roll the dough out and spread it with the remaining suet. Repeat this three times.
  4. Pound the suet in a mortar with a little butter first, and spread it as you would spread butter on puff paste.
