Another Plain cake

Ingredients
- 2 quarts milk
- 3 pounds sugar
- 3 pounds shortening
- 1 quart sweet cyder
- 18 eggs
- allspice
- orange
- fennel, carroway or coriander seeds
- 9 pounds flour
- 3 pints emptins
Instructions
- Warm two quarts of milk, three pounds of sugar and three pounds of shortening hot.
- Add a quart of sweet cider, which will curdle the mixture.
- Add eighteen eggs, and allspice and orange to taste, or fennel, carraway or coriander seeds.
- Put to nine pounds of flour and three pints of emptins.
- Bake well.
