To smother a Fowl in Oysters

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Fill the bird with dry oysters and sew it up.
  2. Boil in just enough water to cover, seasoning with salt to taste.
  3. When tender, put it in a deep dish.
  4. Pour over a pint of stewed oysters, well buttered and peppered.
  5. Garnish a turkey with parsley or celery leaves; serve a fowl with parsley sauce.
