Amai Tamana (Sweet and Sour Cabbage)

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Cut the cabbage very fine.
  2. Heat one tablespoon of goma oil in a frying pan until boiling hot.
  3. Throw in the shredded cabbage and sprinkle with salt, stirring constantly to keep it from burning.
  4. Add one tablespoon of sugar, one tablespoon of vinegar, and a small piece of lemon or orange peel that has been shaved very fine.
  5. Cover the pan tightly and let all simmer for twenty minutes.
  6. Add half a teaspoon of goma seeds.
  7. Serve hot.
