Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Lay alternate layers of bread and butter (cut from a French roll) and a mixture of beaten egg yolks, moist sugar, soaked ratafias, brandy, and currants in a deep dish. Continue layering until the dish is full, ending with a layer of bread and butter on top. Pour a little milk over the layers.
  2. Bake until nearly done. If an elegant appearance is desired, spread the beaten egg whites (whipped to a froth) over the top before the pudding finishes baking.
