Gravy with Onions

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons chicken fat or pork fat
- 1 onion
- 1 tablespoon flour
- salt
- pepper
- sugar
- boiling water
Instructions
- Place two tablespoonfuls of chicken fat or pork fat in pan and heat until very hot.
- Add a finely chopped onion and fry until golden brown.
- Slowly stir in one tablespoonful of flour until brown, taking care not to burn it.
- Season with salt, pepper, and a little sugar.
- Slowly pour boiling water, stirring all the time, until you have a smooth, rich gravy.
