Gravy with Onions

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Place two tablespoonfuls of chicken fat or pork fat in pan and heat until very hot.
  2. Add a finely chopped onion and fry until golden brown.
  3. Slowly stir in one tablespoonful of flour until brown, taking care not to burn it.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, and a little sugar.
  5. Slowly pour boiling water, stirring all the time, until you have a smooth, rich gravy.
