Ingredients
- 1 pound French roll dough
- 6 ounces fresh butter
- 2 eggs
- flour
- Florence oil
- clarified sugar
Instructions
- Knead together the French roll dough, fresh butter, eggs, and enough flour to bring the dough together. Roll the mixture into the form of a long French roll and cut it into thin round slices. Set the slices at a short distance from the fire to rise. When risen, fry them in the best Florence oil until golden. Once nearly cold, dip them in clarified sugar flavored with essence of lemon.
