Beef Tea
Origin: London, England
Source: Anonymous, 1846
Ingredients
- 1 pound fleshy beef
- 1 quart water
- salt
- 1 piece lemon peel
- 1 sprig parsley
Instructions
- Cut the beef into dice or thin slices. Simmer the meat without water for a short time to extract the juices. Gradually add the quart of water along with a little salt, a piece of lemon peel, and a sprig of parsley. These are the only necessary seasonings. If a stronger broth is desired, use less water.
