Curry Shrimps

Origin: India (South and coastal regions), with secondary stronghold in Bengal

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Fry the chopped onion in one tablespoonful of pure olive oil to a light brown color.
  2. Mix one and one half teaspoonfuls of curry powder with a little cold water to make a smooth paste, and stir it into the onion.
  3. Add a tablespoonful of syou, a cupful of boiling water, a teaspoonful of salt, and a dash of cayenne pepper.
  4. Dust with rice flour, stirring until the mixture thickens.
  5. Add the flaked boiled shrimps (or cooked white fish if preferred) and simmer for five minutes.
  6. Serve with rice.
